In classrooms across the country, students are subjected to racialized trauma at the hands of their peers or educators.

The Mapping Racial Trauma Project seeks to create a space where scholars, educators, parents, students and community members at large can look for data on the experiences of racialized trauma in schools. This project is the first of its kind to collect instances of racialized trauma in schools over time. We believe that visibility is power—so it’s important to us that we create a visual representation of what types of experiences are happening in schools across the country.

We also want to make all this information accessible to teachers, school administrators, parents, and community leaders—all of whom need resources in order to address racialized trauma effectively with students and within their schools.
